Short hair style is the hair of convenience, especially if you are
addicted to coloring
your hair, and there are an infinite number of short hair styles.
Whenever you think there is nothing new under the sun, new and
innovative styles are created.
The styles tend to come in phases, and represent something about the
current status of a woman's progress. Short hair at various times has
represented (1) the woman who wishes she were a man (2) the military
woman, like Joan of Arc, (3) the liberated but slightly wild woman (the
1920s flappers), (4) the punished woman (the female collaborator during
the Second World War), (5) the religious woman (the nun), (6) the highly
modernistic girl-woman (see Twiggy, in the 1960s), (7) the busy
fun girl (wash and wear, no fussing, combing, setting, styling), (8) the
sophisticated European (see the Italian Boy cut, (9) innocent
girlish thematic (pixie and petal). The causes and
reasons are as infinite as the styles. You know if short hair cuts are
for you; you don't have to be told. All you need are examples of styles
to test what could be right for you. At least, for the most part, you
should be able to avoid most types of problem hair
styles.
