Black

Throughout the centuries, people have tried to establish hairdos and fashions for one subculture as distinct from any other. For that matter for many years, fashion and culture have attempted to distinguish between the ages, the sexes, the cultures, the races, social classes, anything at all to make one comfortable within a group and to separate you from other groups. All of this to no avail.

Fashion and hair must constantly refresh and revise. It is the way the human animal competes for a mate. Hair and clothes are borrowed and revised and invented and re-invented constantly. There is very little that is new under the stars. Were the Beatles the first to sport the Beatle haircut? Tell that to Moe Howard of the Three Stooges. He should have patented the black-banged mop. Did Bo Derek sport a beaded style in the movie 10 that would establish the look of white women for years to come? Tell that to black women, and men, including Stevie Wonder. There are styles that may be more suitable to culture groups, but the basic requirement for any style is its suitability to the individual face, based on dimensions rather than simply color and tone. How to cut black hair and to style black hair is what it is all about, and it is hoped this page can provide a few examples to consider. One decade that probably showed more change than any other, but which is beyond the scope of this site, was the decade of the 1970s, when the disco scene and Afros seemed to dominate the entertainment industry, and which gave rise to the popular television series, "That 70s Show." Nowadays, all styles are common, and we can even expect to encounter beeswax creations throughout the financial district. 15hqql.
